Ive been trying to install the Oculus pc software all day. It gets to a certain point in the installation and then the error appears 'connection lost'. I am installing as administrator, my firewall is disabled but nothing is working. The log at the point of failure looks like this

Hi everyone, great troubleshooting so far! I've posted a reply in this thread here, which we'll be using to let everyone know when this issue has been resolved. You may be able to resolve this with VPNs or other tricks to restart the connection. But if you'd like to wait for the resolution, please go ahead and follow the linked thread for updates.
I'm going to make my post here as the solution so that it gets highlighted and is easy to find, but please follow that other thread for the final resolution update.

Looks like it's happening to multiple people. I'm having the same issue. Not sure if support is even working on the problem though

Oh really? So it might not just be me overlooking something basic? Well thats good to hear at least. It has better be fixed soon or Xmas will be cancelled!

I am having the same issue with the installer, error code 410 gone when attempting to download the last few files.

Same problem here... Just wanted to do a repair of the Oculus App (because of problems downloading a few games/experiences ("Perfect" app for example)... Now I can't use Rift at all 😕 ...

Hi guys, I had the same problem all day yesterday with my new laptop. I then installed avira VPN with a 60 day free trial (you can cancel the subscription straight away)...then the install worked straight away. I suggested it on an earlier post and several others have had the same result.

I tried a VPN called Windscribe and it didn't solve it for me

It has to avira, it may not be the VPN aspect of it that sorts it, it may be the fact that by installing Avira you completely disable windows defender...either way it worked.

This solved it for me, I used ProtonVPN and connected to the Netherlands and it worked fine for me.
