Disappointed With Headphone Implementation

The built-in headphones are a significant upgrade from the Quest, but I am frustrated at the lack of a decent solution for external headphones. Strapping two devices to your head is definitely a step backwards. I have the official Oculus headphones for my Quest and they are decent and make easy to take the headset on and off.

I have come up with a solution for my Quest 2 that works, it is another kludge.

Why can't I have an out-of-the-box solution that doesn't make me feel like that poor kid in high school that had black tape on his glasses?

This is a second generation product. It should either come with a decent solution or have an add on that makes it feel like it is designed for the product.

There are headphones / earphones deleloped by Logitech in partnership with Oculus for Quest 2. Unfortunately not available in my region otherwise I’d have probably purchased them already.

Yes, but one pair is a regular headphone, so you you have to put them on over and after you put on the headset and the other is the same as what I have with just a shorter cable.

I don't know what was wrong with having headphone jacks on both sides like the Quest had. It is a simple and elegant solution that doesn't require velcro straps to make it work. Did it really save that much money to eliminate one headphone jack?

I guess I shouldn't care how I look since I can't see myself when I'm in VR, but it just seems amateurish. I was hoping that I wouldn't have to spend lots of time modding away their design flaws on this head set like I did on my Quest.

P.S. I am still very positive about my Quest 2, just pointing out where I think they made a mistake.

Can use bluetooth headphones and pair with Headset. Have the Apple Airpod Pro and they work great.

Yeah, it would have been nice if they kept the dual jack setup. I’d have liked to keep using the official earbuds I bought for the Quest 1. Before I got those, I bought Koss KSC75 on-ear clip-on headphones, and I’m now using those with the Quest 2. If I put the wires behind my neck they’re reasonably out of the way.

DK2, CV1, Go, Quest, Quest 2, Quest 3.

I saw someone with the Bionix PSVR headphones on a Quest 2 and they looked really good, but there was still the wires behind the head. I think that's what I'm hoping for; headphones that clip on the head strap but with a cable the exact length.

honestly if its that annoying just get some wire cutters and shorten your cable to the perfect length, get a soldering iron and a $1 headphone jack and solder it yourself

I think there are 2 reasons they did not include headphones. One is to keep the cost down and the other reason is they figured everyone has headphones already. At first, I did not like the idea of no headphones, I had the original rift and loved those headphones. I have a pair of Beats Studio headphones and using them with the Quest 2 sounds incredible. I have to admit it is a little cumbersome though having all that gear on my head. I have the Quest 2 with the elite strap with battery plus the headphones. That is a lot of gear to put on not to mention the weight.

I purchased some over ear headphones on Amazon prime day that have a detachable cable, I also purchased a really short aux cable with a right angle one end to go into the headset. Works and sounds great with no excess bothersome cable.

You should patent that design contact the US Department Of Justice and sell it as a Wireless Electrocution Device.
