GeForce RTX 3060Ti compatibility with Oculus Link on Quest 2?

Hi, does anyone have any experience with the 3060Ti and Oculus Link? I don't see it as an officially supported gpu, but know that the 20 series is supported. I'm thinking of getting the 3060 once it's available and in stock somewhere, but need to know if I'll have issues with it.

I have had a lot of issues with my quest 2 with the 3060ti. I am getting horizontal bars that distort the image, underneath and above the bars is different layers of distortion. its very distracting when trying to race in iracing. i plug in to my 1660ti laptop and the image is perfectly clear.

Oculus has been pretty silent on the matter as i have submitted numerous support tickets. they want an image showing what i set, i dont think they realize how difficult it is to show such a thing using a cellphone camera

Hi, I've been playing half life alyx for a while with a 3060, and except oculus that keeps saying my computer doesn't meet the minimum specifications, it runs perfectly, i have the original quest, but i don't think it's different if you run it with the quest 2.

Hi there - I just found this post and was wondering if you found any kind of solution (a month later)?

I just purchased an ASUS ROG G17 laptop with a 3060 and it's having the exact same issue, with some small performance errors/ resolution decline. When I plug the Quest into my 2060 laptop, it runs smoothly and the picture is clear. Is this similar at all for you? Anything you tried? Please let me know!

Hi, i haven't had many problems luckily, other than some stuttering while loading it's been running smooth. Although i haven't used link much, it worked well so far. I'm sorry, but i don't know what you can do to fix it, but good luck mate.

No problem, just one last question: have you updated the drivers recently? Or are you still running on an older NVIDIA version? (461.40 or 466.27)?

I can't recall, i believe it was a couple of months ago now. I've updated my drivers recently so can't check, and haven't tried the new ones yet. I do have a desktop factory overclocked card, but dunno if it has anything to do with that.

I've gone through 3 different system's ALL HAVE HAD STUTTER ISSUES! First 2 Desktops. Both with RTX 3070 cards... Link cable, Air link and Virtual desktop cause stutters.... the only game really I was able to play with minor Micro stutters was Half life Alyx, but only using Virtual desktop.. any other game like Boneworks or even TWD stutters like crazy... thought maybe it was some thing wrong with my RIG.. so I purchased the alienware M17 R4 with RTX 3070 beast of a laptop.. guess what ... still stutters!!!! So I just returned the laptop back to best buy... IM done with trying to play VR games! Nothing but a endless Search of trouble shooting.. that never works.. and I dug Deep into the web for all kinds of steps to try.. I went through 2 different Quest 2, and about 4 link cables.. **bleep** VR!! I will wait until they fix all this **bleep**!! Please if you are trying to get in to VR gaming.. lol  I strongly suggest you wait... Or have fun trouble shooting more then actually playing! Lol good luck.

I've been using a Quest 2 with a brand new gaming PC with RTX 3060 Ti in it since December without any problems. I updated the Oculus app from v24 until the most recent v28. The only problem was a bug in v27 that limited the frame rate to 72 Hz. This was fixed in v28. And when I overclocked my GPU, I got white bands appearing in the headset through Link after I had played for a while. When I used standard settings they disappeared. It all works perfectly, both Link and Virtual Desktop. I use a third party USB3 cable to link the headset to my PC. It's a 2.3 Gbit connection. I've updated the nvidia drivers every month or so and haven't noticed any differences one way or another. Only now that I've started playing Microsoft Flight Simulator, I wished I had gone for a 3070 or 3080,, but only because this runs extremely poorly on VR. That's a well-known problem however, and even some folks with a 3090 still experience stutters while flying. So generally my experience has been very good.

I have been having a rough time, with the rtx3060, trying to stop terrible stuttering on Assetto Corsa Competizione, no solution so far. I have purchased a usb type c data transfer adapter in a hope to boost the link and still no luck. If anyone finds a fix please post.
