How do I manually update an app on a Quest headset?

Last week I tried to play Echo VR using my Oculus Quest headset, so I could see the changes made prior to Season 1 of the Echo Pass. I clicked the "join lobby" button on the game's main menu and received a message saying "Please update Echo VR". I tried closing the game and leaving the headset alone for a few days; I left it charging, connected to a stable Wi-Fi connection, and turned on. I tried to play the game again, but still received the "Please update Echo VR" message. Is there a way I can manually update an app stored on the Quest headset's memory?

Apps should update, see if you have an update available, on the app.  Or just reboot your headset.

After a few days, rebooting the headset and leaving the headset charging and connected to Wi-Fi turned out not to work. However, I was able to join a multiplayer lobby after uninstalling and reinstalling Echo VR.
