Hi, I'm a huge fan of VR and always dreamed about buying a VR Headset, but till last year I needed a VR Ready Desktop before buying Oculus Rift or HTC VIVE
(This might be a little off-topic but it is needed to describe how unlucky I am) So, last year by this time, I tried to upgrade my Desktop with Nvidia Gforce RTX Founders Edition ($1600 USD) (Specs Include i7 6700k Processor, 32 GB DDR4 RAM, 500 SSD, and 2 TB HDD sitting on MSI M170A Motherboard and powered with Corsair VS650 Power Supply) Though these cover the requirements needed to use that GPU, whenever I start Any Game (even with low graphics settings), with in a few minutes (like 10-15 mins max ) the GPU heats-up to more than 80°Cand my machine restarts (Rest of the time, it works fine) and I consulted Nvidia about this and got it replaced, yet the problem is not resolved (and I can't afford to buy a new desktop for that GPU). I lost hope, gave up on my Desktop and regret wasting $1600 for a GPU (which is being used for watching videos and doing other basic stuff).
But my hopes are raised back when Oculus announced Oculus Quest and was eagerly waiting for its release, but when it finally happen I was disappointed as for some reason Oculus decided not to release it in India (where I live) though it is a Potential Buying Market for Premium Electronic Products.
Yet, since last May I tried requesting all friends and family who lives in USA to bring me a Quest (I even offered to pay in advance), some of them really tried to buy it for my b'day and Christmas (both comes in Dec) but due to high demand, they couldn't get one.
Losing all my patience, I finally decided to buy Oculus Quest 128 GB ($499) directly from Amazon.com which charges $66 for shipping and $240 for Customs Clearance which made the total $805 USD to deliver it to my place in India. It's supposed to be delivered by 24th Jan 2020 by Aramex but it got stuck at the Customs Clearance since 18th Jan saying (Clearance process pending- incomplete information - urgent customer instructions required) and no further communication (Customer Care is no help either, they just ask me to wait whenever I call them)
Now, I'm worried whether it'll reach me or if it does, will it be in good condition. Will my VR Dream ever come true....(I will post if it happens)
NOPE someone at the customs department has x-ray scanned it, checked the image and gone hang on a minute, sprinted over and opened that thick brown cardboard box it gets shipped in and seen the black box of goodness, their inner voice just shouted out "it's a Oculus QUEST" (you can see the bright light coming out of the box as they open it).. their eyes light up, they look around to see who's watching AND YOU get a "were sorry your package has been lost in the post"
