Issues: Plugged in, headset doesn't always charge. Also, how to lower headset power usage?

Two issues, any thoughts or help would be appreciated:
1) Sometimes when I plug the headset it, it doesn't charge, orange light is on though, so from the outside, it looks like it's charging. It's definitely not a faulty wire or port.  It has something to do with Oculus not noticing and recognizing that it's plugged in.   Is this a common issue where Oculus doesn't always notice it's plugged in?
2) When my Quest is plugged in and I'm using it, the headset power goes down.  It says "charging" but the power it's pulling in is not enough juice to support the use of my device.  Any thoughts on this?   Is there a way to turn off bluetooth in my headset?

Why do you think it’s not charging? The solid orange LED you said you can see is supposed to indicate the headset is charging.

It’s pretty normal that that whilst gaming the headset may discharge slowly even when connected to mains power in some conditions. I think it actually also stops charging if the internal temperatures reach a certain level to avoid overheating damage.

You can’t turn off the Bluetooth.

Well, for example, I left it plugged in all last night.. Woke up this morning it's at 15% how I left it last night.  Second night in a row this has happened.  Orange light was on so I thought that was the indicator.    Now, I've learned to make sure I see in my headset it says "charging"

This, 'stops charging because its too hot' thing,  could I possibly be leaving my Quest is a state where it's not charging, because it thinks it's too hot?  I thought just sending it to sleep would turn off the GPU processor juice or whatever is inside, but maybe that state of apps-running-in-sleep-mode is causing power issues?

Thanks for your help and thoughts.

I always fully turn my headset off when I’m not using it, have you tried this to see if it charges better?

If you are leaving your headset in standby, are you covering the headsets internal proximity sensor with anything causing the screen to turn on even when you’re not wearing it?

the web user manual says not to play when charging[https://support.oculus.com/644956809267244/] but i think the LINK cable provides power and there is the VR Power™ for Oculus Quest.

i am curious if playing while charging can shorten its life12pwjmkipt4p.png
