It was working perfectly fine with oculus link and steamvr. The problems arose after I set up ALVR. I didn't have a good experience, so I wanted to try vr via the link cable. Once I tried opening steamvr, it wouldn't open steamvrhome, or any of the games. Only sound is outputted to the headset. It works with ALVR, but not link. I tried verifying steamvr file integrity and reinstalling steam vr, but I've had no luck. Can anyone help me out here?
I had the same problem (though not with ALVR) and reinstalled steam and steamvr with no change. Tried a million things but when trying to use link I'd just get a gray screen. Turns out the problem was the VC++ redistributables 2015-2019 was corrupt on my PC. I uninstalled through control panel and then redownloaded them and it works again. Took way, way too many hours to figure this out.
