Not Working

Hi I hope someone can please help me.  I bought my son a quest for Christmas. We seem to be having a problem with it.  It has not worked since we took it out of the box.  Once turned on the controller beams are very erratic and you cannot even steady them
enough to click on a simple confirm button on the screen.  The only way to steady the controller tracking beam is to lay them flat on a counter.  Once u pick them up they go crazy and do not steady while in your hand.  I have done many resets and re paired.   Has anyone experienced this or think they can help.  Thank you.

Hows the lighting in the room?

Welcome to the club, everybody who seems to have gotten an oculus for christmas hasn't been able to use it due to failure or the right controllers. Take out the battery, I'm sure you'll notice the battery they have provided has leaked battery acid on the inside of your controllers. Same thing that's happening to all of us. Oculus will just tell you to submit a ticket and all that, but that's not helping you play it. I had to just order a new controller for 73 bucks. This is a massive problem oculus needs to address to their paying customers. We canr even use these things

I would take those batteries out that oculus sends right away and let them sit without batteries for like 10 minutes. Then try some fresh ones. But probably its already leaked acid inside of yours like it did to mine

As Eastcoast78 mentioned, the lighting may cause the problem. Last summer, I tried setting up a play area on the out door deck and when the sun started setting, it caused the exact problem you describe when the light was at a certain angle.

I’ve tried new batteries and also have even taken to rooms where my sons friends are playing.  I did not see any battery acid in controller or on battery. It’s almost like once u pick the controllers up the sensitivity is set so high in the controller there no way to control it.  I’m thinking about ordering new controllers but that’s a lot of money if it’s not the problem. I was also thinking about pairing one of my sons friends controllers to his to see if this eliminates the problem.  Please keep the feed back coming.  And yes I’ve submitted tickets and they just say I’ll get back to u

It’s really  crazy that if I set the controls on a flat counter I can seem the beams fine with goggles on.  However once I put my hand on them or pick up the craziness begins.
