Hello everybody,
I don't know if the request is placed correctly here, but I'll give it a try.

I've had a problem with Oculus Link for a few days now.
I was able to play the Rift Games through Link until the middle of January. it all worked wonderfully. Now I want to test my new Oculus Link original cable which was delivered yesterday and have to notice that the Oculus Link cannot be activated. The quest is in the loading window with the 3 points after being asked if I want to activate Oculus Link.
An attempt is made, but I cannot get out of the 3-point screen. I hear very soft music in the background.
When I remove the cable, the glasses notice immediately and report that the PC was not found.
I had to update Oculus Link yesterday.
My system has the following requirements
Graphics = RTX 2080 Super
Procerssor = I9 9900k

I would be very thankful for help
greetings
the Lexx

I guess everyone has some sort of problems but not all of them the same.
My problem is the PC program says I need to update my quest headset.
However, my quest should be updated automatically which says it has no updates.
When I first connect the link I get 3 green ticks from the headset and the 2 controllers but as soon as I click enable link, it says there is a problem with connection.
Could someone shed some light as of what could be wrong?

I'm not sure if everybody does Step 4 correct, because it's kinda counterintuitive:

The following instructions should get you going with Oculus Link on your Quest:

1. Open the Oculus app on your PC.

2. Turn on your Quest.

3. Plug your USB 3 cable into a USB 3.0 port on your PC, then plug the other end into your headset.

4. If you are prompted with ‘Allow access to data’, select Deny.

5. Next, you’ll be prompted to Enable Oculus Link (beta), select Enable to begin remote rendering via Oculus Link.

I'm stuck on step 5 it appears:
Enable Oculus Link (Beta).
Access Rift Apps while your Quest is plugged into your PC.
You can disable Oculus Link.....

When I tap enable I see 3 dots appear and it just times out and the message reappears after about a minute.

I'm wondering is it my PC or cable that's the probelm. I'm using an i9 processor with an RTX 4000 graphics card. I have 2 different cables. The first is a USB Type C to USB Type C10Gbps 3m (can't post a link but got from Cablematic, Ref: UH014). Software doesn't recognised this. From the Oculus PC software under Device > Quest I get a green button saying Connected and below that a Red X saying USB 3 connection required. On the headset under Device > Enable Oculus Link (Beta) I get a popup message saying "PC Not detected. Make sure that the USB cable is plugged into your headset and into a USB 3 port on your computer. The Oculus app on your PC also needs to be running". So no joy with this cable.

The second cable is a USB C 3.1 to USB A 3.1 5 m with ferrites and golden connectors (Cablematic Ref: UT055). Interestingly this will only "work" in one of my 6 USB 3 ports. Won't work fully however. I deny access and then I can only see a area I have marked out. Then I'm asked to Allow access to data again and the process repeats itself.

Any advice? I've updated the drivers on the graphics card, updated Oculus software so I'm now running on latest versions. I have demo mode turned on in Oculus software. Think I might just have to go with the Rift S. I am definitely connected, just not seeing anything in the headset. Reason I know this is that when I move the headset around, the software I have open on the PC screen is reorienting according to the headset movement. Steam shows it as being connected also, both headset and controller. So close but yet so far.

Right, here's what I've tried (in the UK) and seems to be working:-
- UGREEN USB 5m Extension Cable, USB 3.0 Male to Female Active Repeater Cable with Signal Amplifier Repeater
- JOTO USB Type C Cable [Extra Long 10ft], Type-C to USB 3.0 Type A Charging Data Cable
- 90 Degree USB C Type C Male to Female Adapter, Right & Left 90 Degree USB-C 3.1 Type-C Male to Female Extension Adapter

I've tried this simply on the USB 3 port on the front of my case and all seems fine. Obviously sitting at the PC I can use just the 3M cable. And if I need more length, I have 8M in total! The 90 degree adapter runs the cable perfectly down the side of the Oculus.

Can anyone confirm the mic is currently NOT working on the Quest via Oculus Link?

It’s supposed to work once you get the v14 update, but I’m still waiting for it, so can’t confirm yet.

DK2, CV1, Go, Quest, Quest 2, Quest 3.

I need to manually change speakers on my PC between the Quest and HDMI and back when using/not using the Link. Why does PnP not work with Link, changing sound output manually is something I haven't needed to do since Windows 95....
