Hello everyone, let me get my spec's out of the way:
- 1TB m.2 SSD - Intel i5-6500 - 32GB DDR4 RAM - RTX 2070 (base clock) - Windows 10 x64 Home (latest updates) - Oculus Rift S Software (latest Quest drivers and updates installed; PTC enabled, as that's the only way to get v.12 working) - 10Gbps usb c to c 3.1 gen2 cable (if you want the link to this from Amazon, let me know and I can send it) - description of cable:
CBUS 5A 100W USB-C Cable, 6.6ft USB Power Delivery (PD) Fast Charge USB 3.1 Gen2, 10Gbps Data
I'm able to start and stop the Link Beta without issue; once in the Link Beta (i.e. Rift software) it's *mostly* jitter/stutter free - little hiccups here and there, but once it fully loads I can move about, select various icons and settings, etc. without issue. It's when I launch Asgard's Wrath where thing's get BAD....
The intro was "ok-ish" - definitely stutter (like the frames are jumping) but playable. The tavern area is very bad, and it doesn't matter if I'm on low, medium, high, or epic - the stutter is horrible all around. I'm now in the first "open" area, where you move from god form to that girl. As I walk around where the sharks are in the tide pool, turtles walking around, etc. I get horrible stutter.
I've tried... - Rebooting (PC & Quest, with full power off) - Uninstall & re-install the Quest software (which I then had to download Asgard's Wrath all over again) - Changed a couple nVidia Control Panel settings (I've since switched them back to default)
For reference, I used to have a standard SSD and GTX 970 SC+ installed, and Asgard' Wrath ran better on those vs. my current config (with the m.2 ssd and RTX 2070).
Any ideas, thoughts? Anyone else experiencing this issue? You think my CPU is a bottleneck?
