Oculus quest update in progress loop

Any one having this issue?

I received my oculus quest last night. Once I started it up it did an update as I paired it to my phone.

But after I finished the tutorial and tried to open oculus browser then a window came up telling me there was an update in progress and to leave the device on and plugged in.

The screen will also go black then come back a few seconds later and keeps repeating.

So I left the device on and plugged in for seven hours over night. At some point it shut off during the night so it displayed being charged to 100% when I put it back on in the morning.

After turning it back on I tried the oculus browser again and it came up with the same update in progress mission.

My plan when I get home from work is to factory reset the device and turn off automatic updates and see if an older version of the software will work.

Also tried getting around the problem by installing the FireFox browser but its installation always fails.

We are having the same issues. Got multiple Quests, older ones (bought when they first came out a few months ago) with firmware of 358570.9320.0 are working fine, but the new ones we have are on 213561.4150.0 and having the same issue of "Update in Progress". Left them on, and charging all night to no avail...

So I think there is a way to install the firmware manually, only if we had the files... If you power off your quest and start it with the power button and the volume (+) button held down it boots into a special menu. From there you can enable sideloading update.

Then you can connect to your computer and install it through adb if you have the new firmware. Is there any way we can get the firmware from a working quest?

Ok here are the steps:

1. Plug in your quest to power.
2. Turn it off completely
3. Hold down the power button along with the volume up (+) button. It should boot you into a menu with a list of options.
4. Select Factory Reset from this menu using the volume buttons
5. Keep it plugged into power the whole time while it does its thing. Wait 5mins
6. On your phone on the Oculus app, select your quest and choose "Finish Setup"
7. Go through the setup process. Leave it alone on the screen where you watch the video tutorial on your phone for like 10 mins. (I was on the phone so I waited about that long, not sure if this helped)
8. Put on the quest, you should have the new firmware now

Wow I am so annoyed. I did that last night but didn't wait long enough. I will be able to try this in about an hour and will confirm if it works on my heads  then. Here's hoping it works!

Can confirm that this method works as well.  Strange how we all received this same error!  Time to play some beat saber!!

Maybe finishing the setup on your phone before the download was finished caused the download to not finish. Not sure why that would happen.

Right now I did factory reset thru the app on my iPad and connected both the iPad and Quest on my cellphone network just to avoid the wi-fi. Seems that after the factory reset and re-pairing the Quest the iPad app now shows that the update is in progress so new firmware is downloading as we speak.
However, I tried the exact same thing yesterday and it did not work. They have probably solved in on their end so factory reset should do the trick even if it's done thru the app. I just connected on cellular to try different internet access but it should work equally well on wi-fi.
The update is now on 85% after 10 minutes so it's slowly progressing. Will report if all is OK in a while.

Confirming now that update is finished and i'm on version 358570.9320.0.
I hope that all of you will get this fixed also.
