Oculus quest update in progress loop

Evolvarium
Protege
Any one having this issue?

I received my oculus quest last night. Once I started it up it did an update as I paired it to my phone.

But after I finished the tutorial and tried to open oculus browser then a window came up telling me there was an update in progress and to leave the device on and plugged in.

The screen will also go black then come back a few seconds later and keeps repeating.

So I left the device on and plugged in for seven hours over night. At some point it shut off during the night so it displayed being charged to 100% when I put it back on in the morning.

After turning it back on I tried the oculus browser again and it came up with the same update in progress mission.

My plan when I get home from work is to factory reset the device and turn off automatic updates and see if an older version of the software will work.

Also tried getting around the problem by installing the FireFox browser but its installation always fails.

I FIxed Mine!! i sideloaded the v11 update then the v12 update and now everything works very well!!

How did you do that??

I googled it and was able to update mine and play games. Simply search youtube for the video titled "

Oculus Quest Hand tracking! And how to manually install the update to get it now!"

and read the description. It will tell you how to install the v12 update but READ THE FULL THING, it also gives you a link and tells you how to update to V11. I simply forced it to update to V11 and then I was all good.

You need to turn off your oculus and then hold down the power & volume - buttons to get to a special menu. Then enable sideboot update. Then you plug it into your computer and simply run a few lines in command prompt (type cmd in start menu)

If cmd tells you "adb is not recognized" don't worry- the same happened to me. Simply run the command correctly and then let your oculus sit for ~10 mins. It will eventually restart with the update applied, as long as you pointed it to the right .zip and typed the command right.

Good luck all.

Found it and fixed it manually thank you!

Also having the same problem. I tried everything and it still stuck in firmware update loop.
I see the cheap with the arrow icon and the green loading bar and then it restarts and all i see is pure black void!

Sounds workings and all i can do is turn off the headset by long-press on Power Button.
