Oculus quest update in progress loop

Evolvarium

Any one having this issue?

I received my oculus quest last night. Once I started it up it did an update as I paired it to my phone.

But after I finished the tutorial and tried to open oculus browser then a window came up telling me there was an update in progress and to leave the device on and plugged in.

The screen will also go black then come back a few seconds later and keeps repeating.

So I left the device on and plugged in for seven hours over night. At some point it shut off during the night so it displayed being charged to 100% when I put it back on in the morning.

After turning it back on I tried the oculus browser again and it came up with the same update in progress mission.

My plan when I get home from work is to factory reset the device and turn off automatic updates and see if an older version of the software will work.

Also tried getting around the problem by installing the FireFox browser but its installation always fails.

I left mine plugged in this morning and checked them an hour or two ago, the problem seems to have fixed itself and the firmware version has changed to  358570.9320.0. Looks like they fixed the problem without any work from our end! 🙂

Yes! It works for me as well. Thank you Monkeylashes and everyone have fun with their new – and now hopefully working – Quest

Hey guys, just read through this forum after experiencing the same issue. I powered off, then powered on holding the power and volume button together  while plugged into the charger. This booted up differently and when I got into the guardian set up, it started updating the right and then left controller. I waited for that to finish and went in normally. That did the trick for me, hope it helps you guys. 🙂

They fixed it all you need to do is reset your headset
They fixed it on their end

No, they didn't fix it on their end.  They just saw that we ended up figuring out a workaround on our end and wanted to confirm that the update finally did install.

I am still having the issue. Is it possible to upload a new firmware using a Mac, or only Windows? Where do I download the firmware and is it necessary any software for the process?

What was the resolution to this? I'm having the same problem, but it's January 2020, not September 2019.
