I have been able to use pcvr for ages now with no problems, it only happened today that when I plugged in my headset to play i get stuck in a black loading screen that wont end no matter how long I stay, I have already made sure I have updated all software for pc and my headset and yet it wont work, My PC is definately strong enough to run pcvr too

+1 Exactly the same issue

Notes:

  • I've tried resetting both the Quest 2 and the PC.
  • I've successfully reinstalled the Oculus Software on the PC. It doesn't help.
  • Trying to launch a Steam game in Oculus mode results in the game closing immediately without any error displayed.
  • Trying to launch a PCVR game from the Oculus Software library gives an Oculus hardware error: "You have a pending hardware issue that is preventing you from entering VR. Please check your headset and sensor are connected." - My headset is fine, I have a stable 2.5gbps link connection. No errors anywhere else and certainly not waiting on anything.

It feels like a driver issue. Possibly the OpenXR runtime? I've no idea.

  • Factory resetting the Quest 2 did not work.
  • Wiping and reinstalling Windows 10 (and all drivers) has worked so it's not hardware related as suggested in the error displayed previously. The only difference is that I'm no longer using the 'beta' build in the Oculus Software.

My Airlink suddenly stopped working when my desktop client updated to v32 and my headset was still on v30. disabling the public test channel (Beta) option rolled the desktop app back to a version where Airlink worked with the v30 headset firmware. Once I'd forced my headset to update to v31, I was able to re-enable PTC on the desktop app again.
