Please increase the limit of encode resolution of Link!!! :(

The limit of encode resolution of Link is 2040x2160 per-eye. Virtual Desktop is 2496x2592. Rendering resolution of VD is a bit lower than the maximum rendering resolution of Oculus PC app, but encode resolution is higher, so in many cases it looks better than Link even wireless. WTF. Please increase the limit of encode resolution of Link. 😕

so the problem is with your computer not being able to handle link.

its a bit difficult to explain but this video does a decent job of it.

The streamer app takes car of the render resolution for the virtual desktop.

Also the slider if you push it to far for the link program it wont work correctly.

My PC (10700k+3080) can handle max render resolution of PC app of Link easily... and it works correctly. We can see render resolution via oculus debug tool layer hud function on Link. Debug tool & fpsVR on SteamVR. We can see encode resolution via OVR metric tool on Link & VD. And about SteamVR, some games use dynamic resolution (auto render resolution adjustment depend on load of GPU). So of course, disabling dynamic resolution via launch option.

BTW, I'm talking about encode resolution. Max render resolution of PC app of Link is 2704x2736. But max encode resolution of Link is only 2040x2160. Both render & encode resolution of Virtual Desktop (high) is 2496x2592. Link can't maintain original image quality due to lower encode resolution. It looks a bit blurry. Encode resolution is the resolution of image of what we actually see in headset. So it's very important. To get the same sharpness in Link as in VD, we need to increase render resolution more using Pixels Per Display, etc. But it makes bad performance. Increasing encode resolusion is just better solution. So I need it.

EDIT: My post was applied very late and it became a troll. I edited most of them. Sorry. 😞
