Pre-ordered Quest 2 and my IPD is 71

I'm quite concerned, I was able to use the Quest 1 with no issues, but the Quest 2 fixed 3 IPD settings have me at a loss for words, didn't this whole divide between high and low IPD users cause the Rift S to have drops in sales?  Is there anything that can really be done on this point? I guess if Oculus suddenly gets a return of like 300k units after a week of release maybe they will start work on an Oculus Quest 2 Pro edition or something, seriously this really sucks 😞

Pretty simple, if it does not work for you just return it for a refund.

The new setup should work reasonably for most people. My IPD is about 72, but if I dial my Quest 1 down to 68, it still looks fine. I lose a tiny amount of FOV, but the sweet spot of the lenses is large enough that I can still see clearly.

DK2, CV1, Go, Quest, Quest 2, Quest 3.

Mine is 74.5, so I’m fully prepared to sell it or return it if I find it bothersome. I heard that it can affect some more than others. I even read someone talking about it being less of an issue for older folk (I’m 50)...but who knows. Time will tell  🙂

Do you still have access to a Quest 1?

Dial it to 68mm and see how it feels. That's how Quest 2 in IPD Setting 3 will feel.

Like Nalex66 I also tried that with mine. It was actually fine after playing some games for around 2 hours. My IPD is 70.

Are the lenses the same between Quest & Quest 2?

I thought the sweet spot was supposed to be much larger on the Quest 2?

Do you see any peripheral color banding during your testing?
