Oculus
Quest 2, running wireless with Sidequest and Virtual Desktop. The game
is extremely laggy, and completely unplayable. In addition, the graphics
looks horrible. Even the sound is so laggy you cant hear whats going
on.
My computer is
Intel i7-9700K CPU @ 3.60GHz
16384MB RAM
Geforce RTX 2080
My internett connection: My wifi-router is in my garage, and is
connected with an ethernet cable to a Google Wifi Mesh inside my house.
From the #1 mesh point, my computer is 3 meters away wirelessly. My
internet line into my house is 100/100, and the wireless strenght is
around 45/45 on average. Never below 43/43. (The wifi-signal from the
router in the garage is turned off, so the frequencies wont disturb
eachother)
I found a video on youtube telling me to check the Steam Display Performance Graph, which should be all green. If you have red spikes, something is wrong.
Mine looks like this:
and as you can see its got alot of red spikes!
Does the STEAM "Display Performance Graph" measure reprojection/drops
due to bad wifi connection? Because i am running my pc wireless from
the router, and i think that could be the problem. Or does it simply
measure hardware performance
I also installed an OpenVR advanced settings for ALYX
Found at github (Forum wont let me paste a link here)
It gives you an extra menu when playing the game in VR, so you can see what is going on.
It show me the following statistics:
Presented frames: Starts at 0 and goes up and up to infinity and
beyond
Droppes frames: 0
Reprojected frames: Starts at 0 and goes up and up to infinity and
beyond
Timed Out: Starts at 1 but doesnt change to 0 or 2
Reprojected ratio: Starts at about 10% and slowly goes down as the
presented frames number goes up faster than the reprojected number.
Im experiencing fps reprojection in-game. The in-game resolution
(tried on low and medium) doesnt affect the fps reprojection. I dont
have any fps drop. When i look at my pc screen, the game runs perfectly
with good graphics. When i look through my VR set, the graphics look
very very bad. Its like a 15 year old FPS game.
Can anyone point me in some sort of direction? Im new to this and have no idea what to do
Kind regards
-Andy
