There is no software IPD, so I am expecting chromatic aberrations and lens distortions of the images.
According to Carmack's FB connect stream, we can also expect reduced FOV.
I hope they will work towards fixing the 2 issues before its shipment in October.

I played a few games on my Quest 1 today and set the IPD to 68, when I’d normally have it on 70. I was actually able to play for a couple hours quite comfortably, no eye strain or headaches etc. So I’m guessing there must have been some other factors when I tried my friends Rift S preventing me from getting a clear image. My theory is therefore that the Quest 2 could work for me and I’ve gone ahead and ordered one on Amazon UK! They still have them available for delivery on 13th October. If it doesn’t work for me I’ll send it back.

A few reviews have mentioned that there is automatic software IPD adjustment to match the lens spacing (like the Ars Technica one that kojack mentioned).

The Oculus store has a 30 day return window now so it may not make much difference anymore imho.

JD-UK said:I bet I can return my Amazon Quest 2 a hell of a lot quicker than I can an Oculus Store one. Probably get the money back quicker, too. The post office is also about 70 yards from my house - for Oculus returns I have had to go to the next town to the drop-off point. Same as with Valve stuff.
