I have a new PC: Windows 10 Pro Nvidia Rtx 2070 Super i7 - 9700 kf 32 Gigs ram
So I thought I would give VR a go.I bought a Rift s and the sensors were giving an error during setup. Though I cant imagine my NEW computer does not have 3.0 usb, as per Youtube vids, I bought a Usb 3.0 card from Amazon and installed in my computer. Still I was getting sensor errors during setup. I noticed there was something loose inside the headset when I lightly shook it, so determined it was probably defective. I tried to return it, but I could not find the receipt. Duh... I still have a brand new defective Rift s in it original box. I tried many many things and finally gave up and bought the Quest 2 model KW49CM with extra memory direct through Oculus this time thinking it would be better if I had issues, wrong!! I also purchased the $80.00 link cable, and Fit Pack. Total around $600. The link cable, to my surprise, did not include an adapter from C to Usb 3.0 (seriously??), so I had to wait another 2 days for amazon to deliver one. The link cable didn't work, my computer does not respond at all when I plugged it in. The Oculus Quest 2 works fine as a stand alone but will not work on my PC! The games I want are PC link only on Steam VR which is why I purchased the Rift s. I submitted a ticket and never got a reply. After 3 days I went back to support and was able to get a chat after much time and effort. I was told to do all the things I already tried. Restart Oculus, restart PC, reload Oculus software, factory reset Headset... Nothing. I asked for a refund of the cable, I was told to allow a couple days for a shipping label and it has been over a week! In the mean time I ordered a Link Cable on Amazon, looks exactly like the one that I bought on Oculus for $80 at less than half the price and included an adapter! I plugged in the new cable and my computer immediately recognized a new device, Yeah! I was able to run the Oculus setup and get the green check mark, YEAH! But when I try to run a game with Oculus link, my computer screen goes black, headset goes black and all I get is sound. I can see the guardian limits in the headset, but everything else is black. Once again I am instructed to restart PC, restart headset, reinstall Oculus software, factory reset headset... blah blah blah I searched Youtube and tried all the suggestions there with turning off some drivers, installing other drivers etc.. I have spent days on days trying to get this to work and on the verge of shipping everything back and giving up on Oculus and just go with Valve Index. So far I have a Rift S, Quest 2, two Link cables, Usb 3.0 card, c to 3.0 usb adapter and still can not connect to my PC! I have spent more than the $999 price of a Valve Index! Can anyone help me?????? I attached an Oculus log below that I sent to support and still no response or fix.
