Quest 2 User Reviews and Impressions

Maybe nice to have a thread to collect Quest 2 user experiences?

I'll be happy to start with one from Oculus SubReddit:

First thing I noticed was the black levels are no where near as good as the Quest 1. But oh damn, that display is sharp.

SDE is NOT gone, but it is massively reduced. I notice it mostly looking at UI and reading text.

Thank God setting 2 fits my IPD best because the loss of FOV in setting 3 is really bad.

I was gutted the elite strap has been delayed for me but I was pleasantly surprised by the built in one, it feels more comfortable to me than the Quest 1 strap so far, let's see how I feel after extended use though.

This might be a placebo, but is the tracking more responsive? Just feels like a sliver of delay has been shaved off.

Just my opinion but nothing takes the place of actual personal visual comparisons between any and all VR headsets.  Including using these headsets with various games/sims.  Pretty easy, if you do not like what you see with your Q2, send it back for a refund and try something else imho.

The Quest 2 for me has been a great upgrade coming from the Rift S.
The Rift S was a very nice upgrade from the CV1 in games such as Elite Dangerous.
Elite Dangerous with the Quest 2 is even better with visuals but now the sound actually has bass with crisp highs.
The visuals in VOX MACHINAE are such an improvement that I found myself looking around the cockpit marveling at the graphical fidelity such as the shadows of my mech on the ground or the sun coming in and reflecting off of my radar screen blocking the view only to look up just in time to be taken out by a giant worm! (got an achievement out of that though 🙂
One thing I do want to do is speak up for the cloth strap. I pre-ordered the Elite Strap and VRcover because from what I was hearing, the stock strap was crap. The Elite strap when fastened down was giving me a tension headache. I decided to give the stock strap another look and wow. It does take a little time to get the adjustments just right but once the headset is sitting properly in the sweet spot, the fact that the elastic can give micromovements inside the headset has been such a literal game changer in comfort I had to come here and speak up for this brilliant (IMHO) strap!

That's it. That's the review LOL.
