I am wonder about the thought process that went into designing this device with a soft power switch that puts it into sleep mode and a proximity switch that wakes it up. Did it occur to anybody that two separate switches with opposing functions might conflict with one another? My issue is when I am cleaning the lenses of my headset. I turn it off, of course, but during the cleaning my fingers or the microfiber cloth inevitably block the sensor multiple times. This turns the headset back on and the lenses light up. It is already difficult to see where any streaks or smears of oil from sweat are on a Fresnel lens when it is not illuminated, but trying to see anything on the surface when it is backlit is impossible.
Anybody know of a way to disable the proximity sensor so it will only turn on when I press the "power switch"?

Why not just turn the device off completely for cleaning?
Or, if you don't want to turn it off completely, cover the proximity sensor with a little bit of tape, then put the headset to sleep with the button. Mine will stay asleep until the tape is removed
