@MrBrego Maybe it's much to simple for me or - more obviously - to complex 😞
How do you "rename" an audio device?
If I go to Setting > System > Sound > Manage Audio-Devices (Audiogeräte verwalten)
The only option is to test oder to deactivate the device...
If I go to Settings > Devices
The only option is to remove the device
But maybe we talk about the wrong device?
What is the exact spell for your renamed device, mine was "Kopfhörer (Oculus Virtual Audio Device)".
Many thanks in advance!

I have decided after
all not to write too much negative here as it has already been extremely a lot and
emotionally discussed already.I have been using
link right from day one with a non-standard cable that works just fine.Where are people
getting the V13 desktop software from?I get only either
the 12 or beta 14 and Quest is on 13I use a GTX970
which worked fine last time round now nothing with none of the listed tricks. Please all post
when you write what cable you are using.I bought the Quest knowing that it will work
with my GTX970, my pc hardware and this cable from Germany USB C Kabel auf Typ C USB 3.1 I 3 Meter lang I Ladekabel Nylon
Datenkabel I USB 3.0 Computer und Smartphones I Oculus Quest Link, MacBook Pro,
Galaxy S8+, S9+, S10+, Huawei P20 Pro, OnePlus 3 - ROT
Now if Oculus are deciding
to not let our cables work anymore, in other words pressuring people to buy the
official cable, I will be done with Oculus in the future. And I mean that. But
If all works again and the little quirks are all sorted I might just buy the official
cable because of having a longer cable and maybe a little more quality. But
some people will not want to afford that kind of pricing for a cable. So Oculus
I do encourage you to keep the third party cables working. And don’t let this
happen again with conflicting updates. Let us be able to roll back the quest
and even be able to just download the desktop software in the version that we
need or want. And why on earth is
the desktop software so extremely large? That is why roll outs are taking so
long because people are constantly installing, beta updating and then reinstalling
and downloading again. That must cost some server power. So God only knows
when I can use link again and will be a little worried about just how long I
will be able to use it before the next stress test.
Oculus – I only
bought the Quest because of LinkAnd I am very happy
with this hybrid functionality (when it works)Please also add the
same zooming functions to the home screen as you have in the link screen. That
is fantastic especially for partially sighted people like me.You still need to
improve your accessibility for the partially sighted as we too can enjoy VR if
we can read the menus. That’s it for now, see!
I did not complain too much!

Amazing!!!
It was the
changing of the name from virtual headphones to just Headphones. Now it works.
Then in
Beta update click under what’s new and it said Version 13.1
So I
installed that but it still ended up with version 14 but this time link works.
It asks you
to update the drivers just like the last time, so do that anyway.
Anyway the
dam thing now works and it was really just changing the virtual headphones name
to just Headphones.
I use a
German system by the way. So it was Kopfhörer on my system.
Yahooo !!
It’s alive! Link is back.

@Colonel_Izzi has found a work-around for the Oculus Link issues when you're using the PTC v14 PC Software. This will fix an issue where you get a black screen with 3 dots that is displayed forever. If you're kicked back to the Oculus Quest home after a few seconds, that's a different issue and If Link never worked for you, this is unlikely to fix anything. It seems if you have a Encode Resolution higher than a certain amount set in Oculus Debug Tool, Oculus Link will no longer work.However... one of the Encode Resolutions effected by this was previously one of the recommendations Oculus gave out to use for certain cards. So, to fix it:
- Make sure you're using the v14 PTC Software for PC
- Unplug your Oculus Quest from your PC
- Open OculusDebugTool.exe (by default, in C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-diagnostics)
- Under the Oculus Link section make sure that "Encode Resolution Width" is set to 2784 or less
- Reboot your PC
- Reboot your Oculus Quest
- Plug your Oculus Quest in to your PC
- When the Enable Link? Popup shows, click Enable and it should now actually work.
