On the oculus go the brightness need to be now at level maximum(100) for acceptable view but the battery very empty quickely and the image quality is not the same before v18, image is blurry, if not repair these problems I would no longer buy their products it's too stressful, I would prefer to invest in the PS5 and wait for the Sony PSVR 2, I would be quiet for several years, I'm waiting to see how it evolves, the firmware v18 has so many bugs that the simplest thing would have been to put version 17 back in charge with a word of apology.

I received a response from support about contrast issue:
"We are aware that some customers are experiencing this issue, and we are working on a fix for them now. That should be implemented in the version 20 update, currently scheduled for mid-August"
Oofff... More than 4 weeks fixing a bug that breaks useability of the browser and menu and is a regression bug... I wish I could stay on 16 or 17 for that month. Pm me if someone got a v16 firmware archive to revert.
Hard to believe that Oculus cannot provide a hotfix for this contrast issue ASAP. This not only effects menus but also makes many YouTube vids hard to watch. A simple addition of a brightness control on the dashboard like the Go has would probably be the best/easiest way to go imho.

Having a rollback option is a no brainer,I mean even MS have rollback
A rollback isnt that simple because its a firmware update not a software update .. Even MS cannot roll back your Firmware, Hence resetting the Quest has no effect. It still boots with the last Firmware updated. Rolling back Firmware could result in a lot of Bricked Quests.

Thats true they could do that but this kind of thing is reasonably rare ...
I mean you would be surprised how often your Phone Firmware updates, your tablets, even your TV's automatically and silently these days. Its not that often these things go so wrong and this does seem to only effect certain units as most of the YouTube reviews are praising the update in fact its a really good one for the majority.
