Quest casting to phone.

I have managed to set up casting to my mobile phone, but I am going on holiday soon and I know there will be no internet or network available.  Is it possible to still stream the quest game view to the mobile ?

I would think that setting the mobile device up as a wifi hotspot and then connecting the Quest to the mobile device's network would work.

Yes I will give that a go, I might also want to use an android tablet too.  I'll figure something out (he says) lol.

Another possibility might be WiFi direct, but I've never used it, and I don't recall if the Quest has that option or not. I'm curious myself - I'll check it out when I get home tonight.

I had a go, but could not get it to work, the quest seems to connect via bluetooth, but the screen casting requires wifi, but more strange, is that an internet connection (over wifi) is required to start or approve the session - but then the internet is not required to cast.

Did you have any success ?

No. I tried both the WiFi direct option (the Quest doesn't appear to support it) and casting didn't appear to work over the mobile hotspot. I will continue playing with it today.
