Why do I need a facebook account to even view videos I recorded? I am old enough to make one but I don't really want to make one. Also would it be possible to record gameplay on computer?
I ran across this issue just today. If you have a cable for it you can plug the quest into your PC then go to the oculus directory on the device to directly access the recordings. At least they aren't in a proprietary format; they save in mp4.
As for recording on your PC I managed to do it using Sidequest. I plugged it in, mirrored the display using scrcpy then recorded it using the windows 10 gamebar. Unfortunately there was no audio so if that's necessary you will need to use a 3.5mm cable connected to line in.
