Simple way to crank up the resolution on Quest 2

Good morning!

From a few youtube videos I've learned how to really enhance the image quality in my new Quest 2. It really is an amazing difference. I highly recommend it! Basically accomplished either using SideQuest settings or typing in several ADB commands, again in SideQuest.

Question: is there some kind of shell script I can load on my Quest 2 that runs those ADB commands automatically? Or an easy way to create a simple run script that I can manually run on my Quest 2? I do have some PC coding experience so not afraid to get my hands digitally dirty 😉

Thanks!

Yeah, I think Side-Quest is really the only easy way I know of to change the resolution of the headset, though I've experienced a multitude of issues with doing so, such as extreme FPS drops (to be expected) and broken screen positioning in the Quest Home Screen. As long as you don't completely shut off your headset, it should in theory stay at the new resolution.

Also keep in mind, if Oculus wanted to make the headset run at a higher resolution, they would. So pushing it farther then factory settings may have un-precedented consequences, so it's a "do it at your own risk" type thing.

Thank you Brian! Sidequest does seem the easiest way. I don't do much gaming so FPS drops are not much of an issue for me. The broken screen positioning in Quest Home Screen is interesting! I've not heard that.

I thought I read somewhere that a new Quest 2 upgrade was pushing refresh to 120hz. A gamer's dream come true. But for the more staid of us (OK Boomer hahaha) may look more toward higher resolution. Now where did I leave my glasses...  😉
