Stutter with link can be backtraced to the firmware on the quest?? Devs please read this.

I was just testing some games natively on the quest, I tested sairento untethered, triton freediver, kingspray and they all showed stuttering when i came near my boundary.
It doesn't do this in the quest home, only ingame.
So maybe the stuttering alot of us notice with link ingame has to do with the quest software and something in the boundary.

I used to have an oculus rift s and had no issues with any of my games. They all ran like they should.
My system is a 7700k with a 2070s and 16gb of ram so i should be able to run a game like pavlov without any hitching  😐

You're definitely on to something.  I put down a small mat to keep track of where I was then disabled my guardian and played some beat saber.  The stuttering went WAY down.  There was still some frame drops but not nearly as bad.

I think there are some serious tracking issues with this update.

yeah there's something going on for sure. We always get the same suggestions from support, but if our experience was flawless before and we didn't change anything else but the software, what else could it be..

I just tried this and i can confirm exactly the same. Had stuttering and frame drops when using Link, disabled Guardian, stuttering instantly went away. Reactivated Guardian and the stuttering came back, every time the barrier appears. Definitely looks like they screwed something up.

i also can confirm this...If i use link and came near my boundary all games are showing stuttering. As soon as i in my guardian "zone" or i completely disable guardian the stutter is away...

I found settings for speed and guardian and adjusted them to less sensitive when approaching boundaries. Haven't tested yet because most of my problems were when in multiplayer, not single player modes.

The weird thing is, it doesn't happen wirelessly with Virtual desktop, just tested that.
It does however happen to native quest games too so i'm very confused right now.
If it's the firmware on the quest, it should happen with virtual desktop too, right?

Idk what they did with the latest update, but that made it ALOT better. It's not completely gone, but no humongous stutter anymore when coming near the boundary. Also games seem to run smoother again. Kudos

i've had the stutter when going near boundaries since the V15 update and its still here with the V16 for me.
now i can only play beatsaber with guardian disabled, if i get close i literaly loose 1/2 frames and even controller vibrations are bugged

When simracing I put my controllers down and use a wheel. I have my Guardian set up so it kind of reaches into my desk a bit so I can sit close to it. Today I noticed that when I had the controllers on the desk and they "touched" the Guardian wall, Link would stutter briefly. Putting the controllers on the floor (inside the playspace) solved the issue.

I'm on update 16.
