Tracking Issues with Quest 2 since v23

Hi folks,

having annoying tracking issues mostly with my right controller and mostly when playing Beat Saber. The controller gets somehow lost, when moving it near my hips back to the front like shown in this YouTube video.

I think this happens since the latest v23 update that also updated the controllers. Does anyone else have the problem here? Some are reporting on Reddit and YouTube.

Regards,
dandjo

I am running into the same problem (Quest 2). Tracking somehow is going nuts. Like in the youtube video controller is lost putting it down nearby your hips. It reappears mostly in head height. Also have this in other Apps and the home. Sometimes the controller is picked up one meter away from me. I alos had the tracking lost messages after waking up the device and the guardian is not found at all. Yesterday I did a factory reset and the tracking lost error is away. But still tracking issues with controllers.

Is there any kind of fix for it on the way? On my Facebook group more and more people are reporting tracking problems now for a few days.

I have been going nuts about this and I thought it was just me or there was something wrong with my headset and controllers. The issues I am having after updating to V23 are major issues with tracking loss in games like Beat Saber (I'll upload a video next time I feel like being frustrated). I recorded a video and can see the saber hitting the blocks, but it is seemingly as if the controllers will lose and regain tracking mid swing causing me to miss blocks at random. I have tried this in practice at various song speeds and even at 50% speed, the same issue occurs. It primarily loses tracking around waist level and blocks shoulder level to the far left and right. I do not recall this ever being a problem before the update. Another issue I am having that I have since opened a support ticket for, is the right trigger does not work in most applications anymore. For example, I can use it with no problems, navigating any home screen menu or sub menu, but if I open Beat Saber, I cannot select a song or menu option with the right trigger. The pointer works, but only the left trigger will let me select things in game. Now imagine my frustrations being right hand dominant... I have replaced the batteries in the controller with new ones, paired the controller again, factory reset the Quest 2 twice, reconfigured my play space, but nothing has fixed this even temporarily. Applications like The Under Presents are completely unusable since you have to click the right trigger along with the left to create your hands at the very beginning. This was never a problem prior to the update and has collectively had my Quest now sitting around doing nothing for the most part

Ugh, same here. Since the new update Link and Virtual Desktop have become literally unusable due to frame drops (caused by tracking issues from what it seems). So when can we expect a fix?

Glad to see more folks with this issue. My right controller is also losing tracking a lot recently. I've changed the frequency and that hasn't helped. Just replaced my batteries even though they were 50%. This makes Beat Saber pretty difficult. Hope it gets fixed soon.

I recently bought my ever first VR headset - Questt 2! now during the black friday sales. And i'm experiencing the same problems as you others have posted here...
Especially my right controller loses tracking constantly- drifting away or pointing backwards in beat saber amongst other games as well. I currently have the latest update (V23).

I have already tested to:
  1. Factory Reset
  2. Change frequency
  3. Change batteries to new 1.5 V
  4. Tried optimized lighting conditions in the room.
  5. Play on multiple games to verify if the problem exists
Nothing works, not even temporarily.
What else is there to try before contacting support?

Hi everyone !

Im really mad at the v23.
Tracking issues of the touch controllers. Never finding guardian when turning the device on. Never able to find controllers until i move them when turning device on too. Wobbling walls making me lose balance. Sometimes violent drops in home or passthrough.

This makes a lot of frustration. I may play a bit sitting in a chair or with A LOT of light to reduce the wobblings.

Cant wait for a patch fix...

To all the fellow sufferers: please contact the support and describe the problems in detail. Also let them know what kind of workarounds you tried and which ones didn't work.

This is awful. I was really enjoying the Q2 and getting into Pop one but it is booting up with the lost tracking warning and when I get to a lobby in any game it is kicking me back out. If I fly in pop one and look downwards it kicks me out, if I look down at cards in poker it kicks me out, Ruining the experience and the purchase and I think I will send it back. Any help would be great.

Has anybody had problems logging back in or reinstalling games after a reset?
