OK so I have the Official Oculus cable connected to a USB Type-C port on my new Nvidia Geforce RTX 2060 Founders Edition video card. Last night I am playing No Man's Sky via Steam VR and suddenly I get this message that tracking has been lost and that it will no longer be able to determine my location blah, blah blah, but I also notice that my controllers are not responding very well either. Side note, this seems to happen when I have to stop play, (Usually honey can you come here and then return to the game and tracking is whacked). So with that in mind I have a couple of questions:
1. When it says tracking has been lost it is talking about the cameras on the headset and it has nothing to do with the controllers - Right?
2. If that's correct then why do my controllers go all wonky and by wonky I mean the laser pointer effect isn't there or is jerky and sporadic motion, I can't select anything with the controller, even the tracking has been lost message continue button etc
So I was initially thinking that tracking was tied to the controllers because they freak out right after I get that message but then after doing some additional reading I get the impression the controllers and tracking really aren't related that the tracking is all related to the cameras in the headset.
In and effort to troubleshoot this issue and see if I can figure out what may be causing the issue, (SteamVR????) I need to clearly understand where the issue lies, headset cameras, controllers or a combination of the two.
