Tracking issues, Quest 2 Beatsaber, hands behind avatar in multiplayer, saber gets stuck

Not applicable

we got the Quest 2 a week ago and i like beat saber alot. Im fine with hard and some experts already. But i have some struggle with the tracking. It feels like some times i miss some very easy boxes - and if i swing too hard from behind - the tracking cant follow. Additional in multiplayer, my hand are displayed almost always behind the avatr if i extend my arms over 90°. sometimes the saber gets stuck in mid air and i rotate around. Made a vid clip.
I checked alot of posts and did like all recommended fixed for common known tracking issues like lights, freq, background, reset headset + controller. happens for both sides, no mods.

So yeah, what to do? It kinda tilts me that a new headset dosent work as it should do and i dont know what to do about it. Please send help!!

Grand Champion

It's a common issue with the lackluster inside-out tracking. If you want proper tracking (and optimal tracking volume), consider Index, Rift CV1 - or HTC hmds with base station support.

Maybe try to contact Oculus Support - if they have any ideas.

And/or you could try if something here helps - advice gathered from several Quest 2 users with tracking issues:

  • LED lights of any kind = bad for tracking
  • Sunlight = bad for tracking
  • Some apps are reportedly causing tracking issues
  • If none of the above are true for you, attempt to change the hz for electricity in the settings, try both 50 and 60 hz regardless of region
  • If lenses on headset has marks / finger prints this issue also occurs give them a clean with lens safe material / wipe / cloth
  • Bright TV / Monitors can also cause the above LED issue including standby lights
  • Too little light can also be a problem
  • Try to play away from reflective surfaces, Mirrors /large off TVs
  • Try to play in a room with as even lighting as possible, a lamp off to one side or uneven lighting also appears to cause similar issues"
