Trouble with Stuttering and general lag

Everything with my Quest has run smoothly with the link cable but I started to notice 3 days ago that my headset would drop frames from 70 fps all the way down to 10 fps and would last for a minute typically. My headset seems to lose tracking and everything goes in slow motion, my friends don't notice the lag when playing in vrchat and say I move normally so I am only experiencing the stuttering on my side. I tried clearing caches and changing visual settings but that didn't change the situation. It happens in other games as well. It seems to have gotten worse with the stuttering happening every couple of minutes, I have a diagnostic tool that I can run while I am in vr but it does not pick up any problems. Is anybody having any issues here recently?

Hey there alyelliott02,

We understand the loss of fps can take away from the full immersion the devices offer.

While we can troubleshoot most things in the community, there are certain things we would need to collect that we wouldn't be able to look at here.

If you could, please send us a support ticket with the logs of your computer so we can better assist with this issue?

To gather the logs:

  1. Open the Run window (Windows key + R).
  2. Enter and run: C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-diagnostics\OculusLogGatherer.exe
    • The above link is the default directory. Bear in mind that if you installed Oculus Home to another drive you will need to update the command with the correct file path.
  3. Select the checkbox next to ‘Full logs’.
  4. Select "1 day" from the "Collect last" drop down list.
  5. Wait for the log collection to finish. This can take some time to complete.
  6. The program will automatically generate a zip file containing your logs, which will be saved to your desktop automatically.
  7. Attach the newly created zip file to your support response.

We look forward to helping you get back in the VR Metaverse.
