Yes, make fun if you like! but I don't have a cell phone or tablet....  only a windows 10 pc. I have been searching all over but can't find a for sure answer to if I can get a new Quest 2 headset set up with PC only?..  Surely a cell phone isn't the only way!..?

Ah, Thanks for your answer. This is disappointing. I can't imagine I'm the only person in this situation.

Well lets be honest...you will be one of very very few people who has a pc, clearly has or will have Facebook and will be getting a vr headset...but no mobile lol

Just borrow somebody's phone to set it up. You won't need it again after that.

I'm in the same boat here. I bought an Oculus Quest 2 (OQ2) specifically to play a Steam game (DCS world flight simulator). I only use a cheap non-smartphone for phone calls and texts. I have a gaming PC with on RTX2070super VGA running windows 10, and a have just bought a (UBS3.2 to USB type C cable). The VR games from the Oculus website don't really interest me at all. I'm currently scouring the web to set up my OQ2 to play DCS via a link cable alone.
Thanks Oculus for making this expensive nightmare. So far I'm far from a satisfied customer. Feel free to contact me and provide a phoneless solution.

Yours pessimistically,
Rob.

its clear on the front page.

I am yet another smartphone less owner, the need for a smartphone is hardly made clear anywhere except for in small print on the box. As I did not get to see the box till after I paid, as it is not the sort of thing they leave on the shelves for you to look at.

No point trying a PC emulator as they don't support Bluetooth, I tried running Android in a VM, but the app crashes.

Needless to say, I am very dissatisfied.
