Rift S not detected after failed firmware update

I took delivery of a  new RIFT S today.  All installed well and immediately after detecting the headset  the software wanted to update the firmware.  This firmware update failed and as Suggested I tried unplugging / replugging the headset.  Since then the headset has not been detected and I am completely stuck  All the graphics and USB drivers are up to date.  I have re-installed the software and still no luck.  This is very disappointing. Any suggestions as to how to proceed would be most welcome

Sorry to hear that you've come across issues with your Rift S. I would suggest trying to plug in the headset's USB first, then after waiting for 10 seconds, plug in the DisplayPort. If the device still isn't being detected, then it is likely that the headset's firmware is bad/corrupt. If that's the case, it'd be worthwhile either returning the device from where you purchased it for a replacement, or reach out to us so we can look into your warranty options. https://support.oculus.com/885981024820727/

Thanks Aidan,  my issue is resolved.  With only the USB plugged in, after at least 15 secs the USB was detected.  The Display port still did not, but I was able to continue with a firmware update after which the display port was recognised.  I hope this might help other who may experience similar issues.  The headset is very picky as to which USB port and it took trying several  (all USB 3) before setup completed.

Кому не помогло ожидание в 15 секунд, проблему можно решить так:
  1. Подключаем Rift S в USB 3.0 (DisplayPort не подключаем)
  2. Заходим в диспетчер устройств
  3. Находим ветку USB контроллеры
  4. Находим устройство Rift S с восклицательным знаком
  5. Удаляем его! ВАЖНО!!! Поставить галочку напротив "Удалить драйвер"
  6. Отключаем Rift S от USB 3.0
  7. Подключаем снова (желательно в другой порт USB 3.0)

To whom waiting in 15 seconds did not help, the problem can be solved like this:

    We connect Rift S to USB 3.0 (we do not connect DisplayPort)
    Go to the device manager
    Find a branch of USB controllers
    Find the device Rift S with an exclamation mark
    Remove it! IMPORTANT!!! Put a tick in front of "Remove Driver"
    Disable Rift S from USB 3.0
    Connect again (preferably to another USB 3.0 port)
