Black Screen Issue on Setup Ryzen 5 3600 and RX 580 Rift-S

Weird issue, I know it's not a headset problem because I can use the headset fine on my laptop without issue. Both my laptop and desktop are running the exact same version of windows and are completely up to date.

On my desktop, I download and run the setup, get to the point when it says to continue setup using the headset. The light on the headset is white, not orange but nothing but a black screen. I've tried different usb 3 ports (even using a pci usb3 card, and just can't get it to work). All drivers are up to date as well.

I've even gone so far as to use Revo Uninstaller Pro to remove any traces of the Oculus software whatsoever, deleted folders in appdata (locallow and roaming) and removed all regkeys associated with Oculus. Reboot, reinstall and same thing.

All power saving is disabled for all usb ports. I'm at a complete loss. As I say, I know it's not a headset issue as it works fine on my laptop.

More Info:

1.  I submitted a support ticket with no response for 2 days

2. I had no issues previously. I had a fx8320 with my rx580 and decided to come into the new age finally and get a decent cpu. Ever since I rebuilt my pc, I've had this issue. I didn't do a reinstall of windows, just replaced the motherboard, cpu and ram and booted back up and that's when I started having the black screen issues.

And like I said, my laptop works fine, same version of windows and oculus software, though it's an intel/nvidia build.

3.If I skip the setup, I then get a Red mark in Devices for my Headset. It states the the oculus software requires a restart. No matter how many times I do this, it still comes back. A complete restart of the computer seems to have solved this issue. Now I have no warning in devices but still black screen in the headset with the white light.  After doing a reboot, I have all green under devices, however, I keep getting an notifications that Oculus isn't working correctly which leads me to a support article that is basically useless.  I have also opted for the public beta branch, which did not resolve the issue.

4. After some more digging into windows error logs, it appears to be an issue with the Oculus Runtime Service. They had this very same issue a couple of years ago and finally released a patch for it, however it seems to have made it's way back in. I will grant that because my laptop works fine that it seems to only be with specific situations, but is still aggravating.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

In fact, in the case of Zenbane, I challenge you to look at his posting
history and convince me that he actually contributes to this forum at
all and doesn't just exist here to get under people's skin and piss them
off.  Tom, I know likes to take jabs but he can't handle receiving them
back and goes all postal but actually does help from time to time.
However I have never in the years I have been here seen anything from
Zenbane on this forum other than acting like a complete jerk.

Can you quote anything of mine where I start name-calling someone for no reason? Take your time searching for that.

When you start posting on topic and answering my questions that I asked first then maybe I might consider answering yours.  Why do the rules apply to everyone but you?

You made several accusations without proof. So I'm simply calling you on it. In this case, your lack of "answering my questions" is really you avoiding validating your accusations. I'm fine with that.

Like I said, anyone can check your posting history--I don't need to provide that.

What have you provided on topic in this discussion--still waiting for that answer.

Only a coward would wait to post something until he knows there would be no response.  I thought you were more mature than that Tom.  I know you don't like being challenged and tend to go off the deep end but you geniunely try to help people here and respected you for that.

Taking a potshot against someone you know/think they can't respond is a pretty slimey and dirty move to pull.

You are far from being a challenge mate, just a pesky little nuisance imho.  Rebadging your username is not likely to tolerated for long and may hurt your chances to have your initial ban lifted.  I'm actually kinda feeling sorry for ya cowboy, lol!
