Hi everyone,I had a black screen since the latest patch 1.38.0 and i've tried everything i could find on the forums about fixing that black screen...after 2-3 hours/day of research for about a week trying everything i could find to fix this black screen,nothing worked.Then i remembered that one of my VR games did'nt work because of a special character in my windows username..So i logged in a different windows user,started Oculus and it worked !!! Hope this helps someone with the same problem .
Had the same problem with the initial setup when i got my Rift S. I have an "è" in my windows username. Made a new local user with admin rights and my Rift S have been working flawlessly after that. Have helped some users on Reddit with this solution and they got it working this way.
Oculus software does not seem to enjoy letters with accents or letters like åæø.
Actually.... i wish that everybody that have issues with the Rift S try to make a new local user account. Takes two minutes. Might not be a solution for everybody, but worth a try.
