Flawless Install - ANYONE? ANYONE? Bueller?

My Rift S ships today, and of course I've already spent too many hours learning all I can in advance.
Oh, the irony!  Oculus and early reviewers proudly cheered the Rift S, saying, "Setting up your headset is quicker and easier than ever before."
And yet,  both this forum, and FB forums have page after page of install problems. Not the usual forum Tips and Tricks and positives.  99% install problems.  If this is quicker and easier, I'd hate to see the prior ones!
My favorite problem was a FB post about foggy, blurry display.  34 posts of suggestions ranging from adjusting the IPD in different ways, buying prescription lenses, to using the Tray Tool or sending it back.  I'm surprised no one said to reinstall Windows.
Of course, the problem turned out to be that the owner had neglected to remove the plastic lens protectors.  But the community is so used to hunting down mysterious issues and solutions that the easy answer was missed.
So... has ANYONE just installed the software and plugged the thing in and it worked?  And continues to work??  Please let me know if it's feasible that the stars and planets can align.

Yes they can mate, mine installed flawlessly as have many users here who had the stars and planets align 😉 I think of it this way, there are a million different systems and setups and addons and peripherals and drivers and ssd's and hdd's and GPU's and CPU's and and...well the list goes on. My planetary Hope's and shining stars fingers are crossed for you 😉
A PC with lots of gadgets inside and a thing to see in 3D that you put on your head.

My Rift installed flawlessly in 2017, never reinstalled, I've probably got something like 25 - 30 forced updates by Oculus during the years. For now, never any serious problems - had to readjust the guardian system twice or so.

But I've had many worries caused by the updates - especially when reading about the troubles these caused other users - but so far I never got hit. Often it seems like the 95% of users who don't experience problems are silent - while the 5% make a lot of noise, and of course they should.

Yeah, maybe the 95% are too busy playing with it to post.  😉

I also own the Valve Index, still I'd consider Oculus the best platform, even by far. You'll get the best performance in the most amazing games ever experienced by humans. Even if you should experience some problems, hopefully these will be solved and quickly forgotten when the Rift opens 😉
