How Do: CV 1 and Touch Controllers

Indyesque
Honored Guest
I just fished my original Rift CV 1 out of the basement. This is among the very first Rifts to ship. I want to add Touch controllers, but not sure anything I can buy today will work with my CV 1 headset.

Can anyone offer advice and direction as to which if any Touch controllers to buy for use with the original Rift CV 1?

Thanks.

You should still be able to buy left and right cv1 controllers (and sensors if you need these) from the Oculus store:
https://www.oculus.com/rift/accessories/

You may get away with using a Xbox one wireless gamepad for many games but I'm not sure how easy it is to navigate the current Oculus v14 home.  Maybe you just need to navigate via the Oculus desktop app?

Tom's link is to the right ones. They should look like this for the CV1:

(tracking ring on the bottom, around your hand)

The wrong ones (for the Rift-S and Quest only) look like this:

(Tracking ring on top)
They aren't compatible, the CV1 can't use Rift-S Touch and vice versa.

Depending on where you live, you may be able to still get the Touch bundle with an extra sensor. You really need at least 2 sensors for Touch. Some regions don't have the bundle anymore, you have to buy Touch and a sensor separately for a higher cost.
(Europe and uk still has the bundle, asia pacific and usa don't)
