Issues with VIA USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller - 1.0 (Microsoft)

Just recently bought a Rift s and for some reason it said my USB ports I have on my motherboard aren't compatible. I saw that this can be an issue and oculus recommended high speed USB 3.0 PCI card from inateck. I bought the 7 port one, installed it and the drivers, restarted the computer - the whole deal. Now it wont recognize the Oculus if it's plugged into any of these USB ports on the PCI card. Just shows up when plugged into the one that says it's not compatible on my motherboard.
Along with a caution sign it says - "Some of the hardware that powers your USB ports is not compatible: VIA USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller - 1.0 (Microsoft)"
Before going out and purchasing the PCI card I made sure my VIA USB drivers for that are updated and they still, currently up to the latest driver.
The Inateck ports work with other USB 3.0 devices/thumbdrives - but when the Rift S is plugged in it wont show up or is recognized. It also still tells me the error
VIA USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller - 1.0 (Microsoft).
All the USB drivers are up to date.
All the other computer specs are just fine. It's just this one issue.
I'd very much like for this to work but this has been a real headache. Can you please help?
Thank you.

Nothing is working. MAC_MAN86 said:

Oculus installs 2 USB Hubs upon connecting it: a Generic USB HUB and a SuperSpeedHUB. Have you got those there?

Yes those are installed. I have two Rift S USB hubs in my devices.

Have you tried completely uninstalling the drivers and then rebooting to let windows install the default ones again? I was having your exact problem when I got my rift s at the weekend. I have the 4 port inateck version but I assume it works the same. Nothing worse than having issues like this when you just wanna be using your new gadget. Hope you get it sorted.

Yes I've done this too. This is the closest I come to everything just working smoothly. Then sure enough I have another error of "you are plugged into an incompatible USB port" message and the screen goes black.

What other host controllers are in device manager?  I have a renseas usb 3 extensible host controller and if I do not disable it (killing my other usb 3 ports) my fresco logic card (the one recommended way back when) wont work.  Something to look at?

I have the Fresco Logic xHCI (USB3) Controller FL1100 series
3 Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controllers
4 Standard HCD USB Host Controllers
VIA USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller - 1.0 (Microsoft)

I've messed around with disabling some of these and nothing really is coming out of it in terms of it working.

Ive sent in my ticket for help the other day... I hope to maybe get some one on one support to get this to work.

I'd try using a Manual Selection of Drivers on your PC (not internet search) for standard xHCI Drivers.

Mind telling me which ones you would select?

I feel like this is really dumb - why can't I just plug in my new Inateck PCI card and everything just work?  :'(
Maybe if I could get the oculus to actually see those drivers that would help! I plug it into any of those ports and it wont even give it power. So frustrating!

Well although Inatech were recommended even for the CV1, Users had to use the MS Defaults instead.
For me I can't get my USB3.0 PCIe Card to track controllers but the m/b USB3.1 (GEN1 I presume) work so much as only get issue of Flashes over 2 hours then a Blackscreen but only in Elite. In PokerstarsVR I must use another Audio Device e.g. speakers and not headphones with the RIFT S.
SO...yours did not install the Generic SuperSpeed HUB but did the  Gerneric HUB by the Oculus Install of attaching the RIFT S. Yours added 2 RIFT S HUBs instead.
None of your HUBs look to be USB3.1 but lets assume USB3.0 is all it needs as they say...They are simply in alphabetic order and the Rear ones are likely to be Standard ones for Mouse & Keyboard (you got 4) plus 3 on PCIe.
I think test the Fresco Controller. If it loses Mouse control just move the mouse to another Port to change back but on another Ports set (PCIe Card or Front). OR it is the VIA one as that has specific chipset non-Intel which is probably the Front Ports as eXtensibles. The HUBs probably have no other to select. Good luck - but you may just get it to work albeit with same flashes/blackouts for now.

Honestly when this happened to me I uninstalled  all the drivers for everything usb 3.0 related. Then when I rebooted I went into the bios before windows started and disabled everything usb3 related to the motherboard  so only the card was usable. Then when it booted up the default drivers reinstalled  and it worked. It means my front case usb ports don't work and the usb 3 on my motherboard  don't either

Try to disable VIA USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller - 1.0 (Microsoft), reboot make sure it is off and then try again..  Do no uninstall it or windows will reinstall it.

USB Drivers also need a manual Search of Drivers for Online Updates not done by Windows. I did this for 2 of mine.
