Multiple instances of right Touch controller?

I'm getting this.
No ill effects that I notice, but it's not cool either way.
Clicking the inactive ones shows garbled serial numbers, and they are impossible to remove.
Windows' device manager shows nothing out of the normal.
Anyone else?

Same here. I guess i'm glad i only have 2 phantom controllers. Tech support gives the standard BS repair/reinstall answer. I doubt support will even make the coders aware that this is a problem that needs to be addressed and the community will have to find the fix or work around. There has to be a file where the controllers and ser # are recorded in %appdata or maybe registry that can be edited or deleted. We need a streamer to rant about on you tube, then it will get fixed.

phantom controllers disapeared. I only had to reset boundaries and everything is ok.

Yeah I used to show multiple right Touch controllers, doing some troubleshooting on a previous issue I did a complete uninstall and clean of Oculus with a new install, have not had the multiple right Touch controller issue since. So far at least, and it has been several days now.

As per reply from support I tried removing software and all oculus setting directories and the problem with the right touch controller issued came again and
locked out the headset. Though i may have traced a situation that seems to cause it

After a bit of
testing the problems seem to only occur when using Steam

If I don’t start it
and only use oculus home games its all fine

So when in VR use oculus
home, use desktop and fire up steam, display gets very laggy, orange light
comes on, goes black then the touch controller issue, it all locks out. if does come back sometimes i get a lost tracking issue.

So tried starting
steam without the head set on… that seemed to work

So then tried to
start steam VR and it just locked out the headset even tho i didnt have it on

The only way I have
been able to start steam games is from within oculus home with the headset on

Tested for a while
and it seems fine, will continue to test

So its either when
my system is under heavy load i.e. when starting steam itself of starting vr
games from within steam. I tried a few other games with different launchers and had no issues... it seems to be a steam thing...

I have an i7 7700k,
GTX1080, SSD, 16G ram so I don’t think it’s a hardware system issue...

well oculus support told me they dont support steam - so if thats the cause then there isnt going to be an easy solution.

Valve/steam are not going to look into it either...

never had issues with my CV1

so buyer beware on this one... am understandable response but given the market share with steam users then it could restrict sales...

have 20 days or so to see if i can solve it otherwise its going back to the shop which has a 30 day money back guarantee no questions asked

I have the same problem with an extra right touch and also have to unplug and plug back in the headset because of the black display.All of this after the firmware update which we had no option but to install.

NONE of you have extra controllers. You've probably been playing Elite Dangerous for too long and are now suffering from Space Madness. 😄

That's what I'm blaming mine on anyway. And those voices I keep hearing too. :blush: 😄

...and I thought I had 5 too many...

I ended up with 24 Right Touches and 5 other controllers (HOTAS?) before editing the .json file and banishing them.

Since 1.39ptc released its latest they have obviously been neutered as they no longer breed...
