New Rift S Defective?? Cameras become "Static" or "TV Snow" in just SECONDS

I just bought a Rift S, and I experienced Guardian setup for a few seconds before the cameras shut off and my screen turned to snow / TV static.  After restarting my PC I was actually able to get a visual and completed setting up my playing space, and was greeted by the main menu --- only to see my screen return to snow / TV static again.  Does anyone else have this problem with their BRAND NEW RIFT S?   I'm hoping this can be fixed or else I will have to return this device and / or hope this problem is resolved...

Just received a new cable from support that was supposed to resolve this issue.  The Rift S went to snow in about 15 seconds.  Hope this is resolved soon.

wow i didnt even know the cable was removable / replaceable.  Guess I'm gonna return mine, hope for the best, and buy again at a later date.  After the update, i was so fed up with how much more often i was getting snow or blackouts.

i get the same random static, i tried all the usb port disable power management tricks ect..thought i had it but after a few hours i am back to the random screen static for a spit sec... now im down to making sure no other device is on my b450's usb 3.1 ports and moving from port to port to then running some games for a few hours to see if its fixed. its annoying but works. i did have the stuck in setup the first day i got my rift s but after a quick reboot it completed. now its just that random splt sec static issue witch i hope is just a fw glitch.... msi b450m pro-vdh main board latest m.60 bios. rx580 GPU latest driver 16gb ddr4 3000 ram amd 2nd gen 2600 cpu rift worked flawlessly on the system

I think you should try a USB 3 extension card for PCI-E, this solved this problem for me (for all time it seems). Inateck with two ports does the job.
Y-cable for testing is in the way. The Rift S seems to suck to much power out if one port on some mainboards.

Shouldnt have to buy new cards. Rift s is supposed to work out the box with usb 3. Pluss dont think the pci card works for everyone so wouldnt waiste ya money till its a proven fix

I tried everything I could. Power saving options disabled, USB-C adaptor, 2 different PCI-E cards, all USB ports on my motherboard... And this is my 2nd device with the same issue. I'm waiting for a 3rd Rift S...

I only get the static when the room is too dark for the sensors to track.D you have enough light in the room?

The amount of light has never made any differences ranging from being super light to very low lighting.

It does the white static flash with or without the tray tool for me.
