Oculus Headset Cord replacement/workaround

blakesterrico
Honored Guest
I’ve been looking for a replacement cord for my Oculus Rift after it broke & I can’t find them anywhere. So I though about buying a HTC Vive headset cord & using that or getting a Oculus Rift S Headset cord. Does anyone know i’d either of those work for the Oculus Rift?

Neither of those (Rift-S or Vive) will work. The Rift CV1 has a proprietary plug on the headset end which no other VR headset has. There is currently no working alternative.
(Also the Rift-S cable isn't HDMI which the CV1 needs)

I wonder what percentage of CV1 owners with damaged cables will ......
(a) Not bother buying another VR headset due to lack of support.
(b) Buy a VR headset from Oculus' competitor.

I'm thinking that when my CV1 breaks, I'll opt out altogether until it's no longer an experiment.
