Petition for official headphone upgrade to Rift S

Lets face it. The default Rift S speakers are total garbage compared to speakers of Rift CV1. You can run external speakers thru 3.5mm audio port, but at least I've found it difficult to find good quality headphones which fit nicely over halo headband. Even if I've found some which "work", they still put pressure on Rift's headband and HMD no longer feels perfectly comfortable against your face. Earbuds obviously would fit, but they are something I would not use daily. Their sound quality is not very great and to obtain some bass you really need to plug them firmly to your ears.

Even if one would find proper 3rd party headphones, it is always an additional effort to put them on with the HMD and leaves you with (usually long) pile of extra cable piled somewhere. Rift CV1 was so much more convenient to use what comes to the sound solution.

For these reasons I leave a petition here for official headphone upgrade to Rift S. Would this be totally new headband with new speakers or some good external speakers which can be mounted to current halo headband? It does not matter really as long the solution works and brings Rift S sound back to par with CV1.

It is rather sad that other ways good device has been ruined by this kind of oversight in design.

+1 I had low expectations for the and the audio quality, but I still hadn't set my expectations low enough to face this.
We just need a fix soon.

I've just installed the beta upgrade with the improved sound, and it's still garbage. It's never going to get any better because the in-built speaker is garbage.  I'll be returning mine for a full refund.

Ratty,
I'm not sure what you are saying. Are you saying you unselected Bass Boost or it should be selected?

Coming from a CV1 these speakers are total garbage. What would have been so difficult about designing the headband with the CV1 speakers? It would of been fine. Now I have to find an external solution.

VR is all about immersion and they design the Rift S with open speakers? What dev was thinking that was a good idea? Even if the speakers were loud, this would still be a problem.

@sakariaura be careful which earbuds you go with as with movement they can fall out requiring frequent adjustment. A quality earbud marketed for 'sport activity' would probably work but I feel over the ear solution is better.
