Rift S Faulty Cable

Hi,

I brought the Oculus rift S back in Feburary and ever since day one the cable has been pretty poor but I didn't think much of it.
However now the connection for the display port doesn't work which I think is a result of such a poorly manufactured cable.

I raised my concerns to Oculus support and they have told me the following,

"However, after reviewing the cable images, I am unfortunately unable to
provide a replacement as this type of damage (twisting) is not covered
under warranty as a manufacture defect."

Now they would like me to pay £79 for a replacement cable which I find ridiculous as I've only had the headset for 7 months with barely any use as it stopped working back in August.

Also, how would I twist the cable myself exactly?

What do you all think?

Is this acceptable?

Yeah kind of looks like some twisting going on there. Also do you use a chair with rollers? Kind of looks like it might have been run over a time or two?

It can be easy to get twists in the cable whilst gaming depending on how much looking around one does. I play all seated games and try to be extra careful and mindful of the cable. Mine still going strong since getting it in May 2019.
I have an office chair with rollers and see where I have run over it a time or two , even when being extra careful.
I thought about ordering a cable to have as a spare, but now that Rift S will be discontinued and I have a Reverb G2 on pre-order I will not be doing that.

I've never once sat down on an office chair and used the VR headset as the only games I really played involved actually moving around phsycially.

I always made sure I unravelled the cable and left it enough room to move around freely when using the headset but ever since day one it was always a pretty rubbish cable, I wish I took it back first time for a replacement but didn't expect Oculus to completely turn their back on me.

They can't even issue me a discount on a replacement 😞

Also, if you are selling a headset where the cable is bound to be moved around a lot and then say "oh sorry if your cable has broken down because you've used it how it was intended then we cannot issue any replacement although it's barely a year old, good luck!" from a company like Oculus then that's pretty shocking.
