I can't wait to see that implemented in other softwares, CAD and 3D modelling in particular. It's a really good idea to have a VR version of a real software, as they have so much more tools than the current VR softwares and VR is much more appropriate for these. They'll just need a virtual keyboard to be able to use shortkeys.

Doesn't sound like we're going to see this any time soon. I asked about it on the Allegorithmic forums the other day and got this reply:

It is currently in a research and experimentation stage. It may or may not make it into the product and we don't knwo when it will if it does, but the reception to the video is encouraging

Well that didn't take long, here is the whole story on how they got the prototype working, in fact, it's been so popular with everyone that they are putting it on the roadmap:

Core i7-7700k @ 4.9 Ghz | 32 GB DDR4 Corsair Vengeance @ 3000Mhz | 2x 1TB Samsung Evo | 2x 4GB WD Black
ASUS MAXIMUS IX HERO | MSI AERO GTX 1080 OC @ 2000Mhz | Corsair Carbide Series 400C White (RGB FTW!)

Be kind to one another 🙂

Nice! I thought they might have got a lot of interest from developers. Can't wait to give this a go, I renewed the Maintenance on my Substance Painter licence the other week too.

Someone is also working on a VR plugin for Blender too.

All I need is Zbrush to get a VR conversion and I'll be a very happy bunny indeed!
