USB 3.0 card issue

I've bought an
inateck KT4001 PCI-e to USB 3.0 4(4 port) PCI express card with power connection
Everything else works on it, but I can't get Rift S to connect to it. I'm hopping moving things to it frees up the onboard USB to work better, but I can find no reason my Rift S won't connect to it.

Welcome to the club. The recommended Inatec card didn't work for me either. I was able to get the headset to connect again using a powered USB hub but the whole Rift S experience has just become one big trouble shooting exercise. Scroll through several pages of this forum and you will see that many people are having the same problem as you.

And yet when I bought it, it specifically was commented on by other purchases regarding its value for Rift S

Did you install the Innatek Drivers or let Windows install the drivers?
Back when I used to use one of their cards I found the Innatek drivers to be problematic, the Windows driver worked better for me.

Started with inateck drivers, then removed them and let windows. I then even followed the advice of one person who bought it on Amazon, to use Fresco drivers. I even moved the card slot. I've also completely removed Oculus software and reinstalled that.
Oculus really needs to get on the ball with compatibility. I could use another card, but which one? Right now, I'm hoping that moving everything off of the onboard will help performance. Only Rift S is on the onboard USB.

I have the same Inateck card (from way back). They used to advise installing the Inateck / Frescologic drivers, but now (on the website of Fresco Logic) they recommend to just use the builtin Windows 10 drivers. That's how I've been using the card for 2+ years now. Problem free.... until release v17 of the Oculus Software that is.

Are you on the Rift, or Rift S? So the only thing that changed was the Oculus software. Great. Good job on their part. I'm guessing from your results that my temptation to do a system image restore won't help.

So far it seems at least getting everything else off the onboard USB is helping a lot. Normal VR games seem stable. A little hard to tell for sure, as I've been in GTA5 VR, very nice, but that's a mod and buggy.
So far my hunting isn't showing any good cards, just a real hatred for inateck cards.

I'm on the original Rift (CV1). Yes, it just happened to me after the update to v17, while nothing else changed at the time (no new drivers, no new windows update, no new hardware).

Anyone with a recommended card? I'm looking at this one
amazon.com/BEYIMEI-Expansion-expanded-Additional-Connected/product-reviews/B0836CHK4Y/ref=cm_cr_dp_d_show_all_btm?ie=UTF8&reviewerType=all_reviews
but and a bit reluctant because I'm seeing a lot of people reporting various cards doesn't work with Rift S.
