WTF? are you thinking with your controllers?

I hope Oculus reads this. Why are your new controllers so ridiculous? I bought an oculus because I liked the circle to be around my hands so I can hold it with ease and use it more naturally. With the new design you guys have coming out the big O serves no purpose just like the vive controllers. Please make your controllers like you did before as they actually served a purpose and were useful.

I'm sensing an opportunity for a hot new VR accessory, here:

Just slap an Oculus logo on there and call them "Official Oculus Hand Protectors"

Or alternatively, "New!  Hand Covers from VR Cover"

Sigh, you posted first - got the same idea - but here's the enhanced design  😉 Especially made for those big Cyberdemon/Ragnarok battles!

You print VR Ready on those and I'm in.

It's for tracking, the camera's are in the HMD now so they need to be able to see everything.  You're either going to have to deal with it or stop punching walls.

I wonder if some third party will start making add-on fake lower tracking rings as hand guards for new Touch. 🙂

Honestly, I'd much rather punch my TV with my bare hand rather than the controller's hard plastic. Better chance of it surviving (though, truth be told, I have punched my TV and monitor a couple times and so far I've been lucky).

One thing I would miss on my old controllers is to stretch all my fingers out to rest like this photo attached.new ones would drop out of hands.mjsmjgqin8ac.png

The new design does serve a purpose: it's for better tracking.
Also, the controller is not supposed to protect your hand. Do you know what serves that purpose? Tidying your room 😉 .

Well with a mobile headset, sometimes you're going to run into problems where you're playing in a less than ideal space because that's all that's available is all. (IE in my office when I should be working Lol) It only takes one slip up to end up in the ER with stitches lol. But it's a moot point anyway because it's not like they wanted to flip the ring, they had to.

i punched the wall full tilt when i 1st got my touch.... they are well built that is for sure but i did damage my wall.

personally i am of the view that skin heals, walls and controllers dont so i personally would rather take the hit than my stuff. (i do draw the line however at serious injury but i dont see that happening from a touch accident 😉 )

OP question answered multiple times so i wont echo that 😉
Fiat Coupe, gone. 350Z gone. Dirty nappies, no sleep & practical transport incoming. Thank goodness for VR 🙂

Dear Oculus, following your ex Forum Admin's advice I have just punched my television only to find that not only did the telly smash to smithereens but I am also now bleeding profusely from several cuts on my hand. Fuck you, I'm buying a Vive.

I'm actually surprised that a User who chose the name, wezzy_the_wizard, only posted once and left. Maybe the responses were not what they expected?
