Will Oculus Rift S connected through a USB 3.1 Type-C adaptor

I'm interested in an ASUS ROG Strix Scar G531GW 15.6 Inch laptop which has a "USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C with Display Port 1.4". 
Please if anyone have experience with connecting Rift s through USB Type-C let me know and if it works good or not?!

u can either plug the rift s in directly via display port OR use the adapter that´s in the package display port to usb-c
