Thousands of people, spent millions of Dollars on development kits, enabling CV1 to even exist!
Oculus thanks these users, by removing every-single-Dk-demo!
It's like; "We've made it, thanks now screw you and buy the CV1".

If it's not just about money; PROVE it and open the 'library doors' again!
Please spare us the lofty "We don't want new users confused, trying old demos that won't work for them!"

They are not idiots, and nor are we!!!

You might be overestimating the general population a bit.

Here's the thing: more people will complain about downloading old demos and finding they don't work on their CV1 than will complain that they can't find old demos that do work on their DK2. It kind of sucks that so many old demos have disappeared, but it's a sensible decision on Oculus' part.

And, for those who really care, many of those demos are still available elsewhere, and can be made to run with DLLs that translate the old APIs to the new one.

They've now created a new section on Oculus Home for demos, experiments etc that have been ported over to the new run times called 'Gallery Apps' that doesn't have the high quality control the rest of the store has. So it's just re-branded Share 🙂

Just remember the old demo's need to be ported over to the new runtime and thats down to the developers.

it was a place where developpers post their applications so you can try

Share was where it was at pre CV1.
And I actually think there is a huge need for it now still.
The random developer ideas were fun to explore, but I can understand them not being suitable for the Public frontend for Rift (ie oculus home) as they were often rough and buggy

The closest is probably  http://www.wearvr.com and another user here started http://www.vrench.com/

Thank you very much pjenness, these sites were just what I was looking for.
I was wondering what happened to the old share.oculus.com and It is disappointing to find out that the site was taken down.

At least I published on my blog the apps I published on Share, for those who want to download them.
Dinosaurs: https://raster.studio/dinosaurs-vr-classroom-experience/
Over the Alps: https://raster.studio/vr-over-the-alps/
Cartoons: https://raster.studio/vr-cartoon-for-the-classroom/

I also updated a wiki I found - An option would be that developers update this wiki with links to their downloads. I think most if not all apps from Oculus Share are listed:

This is such an old thread, but as I have visited it multiple times and is still at the top of Google for multiple searches, I would like to post this here for those who still care about it.  A lot of the links on this snapshot still work, and I've found one download that actually works!  Otherwise it's mostly for nostalgia.
