Now, who is going to be the guy to adapt it to VR. We currently have a nice hole in the ground in NM for you. 🙂 lol

That actually makes me sad. I think it was better left as a mystery... Plus now the AVGN movie is kinda going to look outdated, since the whole storyline is about searching for the lost E.T. cartridges...that are no longer lost.

Oh yeah, forgot about that, Trisk. That is pretty bad timing for James' movie.

The AVGN movie isn't out yet, but you can find the production updates at cinemassacre.com

He's actually commented on it, he doesn't seem bothered by it, but privately I could see him being a little miffed:

Yeah I remember reading about this earlier.

I thought the AVGN's movie was supposed to have a pretty strong grounding in that specific story so I wonder if he's a bit urked by this news. Though on his website he mentioned he was actually going to be at the dig but had to be at his daughter's birthday.

I think they would have found cartridges of the Atari 2600 E.T. game wherever they had dug in that dump!
I mean, if I dig into any dump in the world, within a 20/30 year old layer, I'm sure I'll find dozens of those cartridges
I don't think they found what the legends tells they should have found, i.e. MILLIONS of cartridges, they just found some of them.
And I think the timing is perfect for James Rolfe, it will only provide publicity 8-)

I used to own an Atari 2600 in my younger years. And yep, even had this notorious game. What I remember is that it had boring and frustrating gameplay at the same time. Never finished it to the end. But hey, had it on sale for a couple of bucks 😄

For all you wondering what all the fuzz is about, here is some gaming footage:

I really can't understand what's going on in that video, is that the entire walk-through from start to end without cuts?
