They have dug up an evil place. We're all doomed. Doomed!

Now, who is going to be the guy to adapt it to VR. We currently have a nice hole in the ground in NM for you. 🙂 lol

should go in the off topic section.

I am going to watch this movie on my rift when it comes out.

Happy? Now it's on topic........

I'm a massive AVGN fan and this story was on the main evening news I nearly fell out of my chair.

Somebody should make E.T VR mode. I had a 2600 way back in the day as well, loved it as it was my first console / computer.
Got a game in development or a cool piece of VR tech you want to show off? We are looking for demos, trailers and all things VR. Just send us a mail and we would be more than happy to feature it on our site. http://www.virtualrealityreviewer.com

I don't approve. It's not nice to be digging up graves. Let the dead rest in peace.

Also, this isn't about VR. Moving to the lounge.

It wasn't a graveyard, it was a landfill.

Mojang should add a block of ET cartridges as an extremely rare easter egg in Minecraft. 🙂

I really can't understand what's going on in that video, is that the entire walk-through from start to end without cuts?

I bought this at the time and probably one of the most frustrating games I have ever played. Basically if my memory serves me well, you had to guide it in searching for the components of the device to call home (speak and spell and record player) by looking in an enormous amount of holes. I think if you raised your head a slight flash would occured in the hole and down you would go and get it. Then you had to raise your head and slowly (very slowly) you would rise out of the hole. If you didn't get it just right at the top you would fall down and have to repeat the process again. I think people chased you about as well with torches while your ET character shuffled about with the spedd and dexterity of a turtle.

Yep... that was pretty much the entire game. I was about 7/8 at the time, and even then I thought it was kind of... lacking (to be polite).
